Like everything else these days, Napa Valley Open Studios is going through a few changes, but it is going forward, and will be held, as before, on the last two weekends of September.
I will be at Graeser Winery again this year, where I get to fill the gallery area with my work. My own studio is a bit out of the way, in part of an old chicken barn on a ranch a few miles away; this way it's closer – and there are great wines and bathrooms. And maybe a harvest party!
Open Studios is a wonderful time for me to meet everyone and show what I've been up to during the year. I enjoy getting a chance to answer questions and talk about my work. And I particularly enjoy showing out-of-the-ordinary, sometimes playful or experimental things that I wouldn't necessarily include in other shows – things that people might not expect to see if they're familiar with my work, in addition to the landscapes they are looking for.
Save the date for the weekends of September 18th – 19th and 25th – 26th. And I'll see you then!
